Book Description

Note: This eTextbook has been updated to its newest and most recent edition, which can be found here: Principles of Macroeconomics, 8th edition – Mankiw.

Principles of Macroeconomics, Sixth Edition, by N. Gregory Mankiw, became an instant best seller after its release and continues to be the most popular and extensively used textbook in economics classrooms all over the world. The educators they taught realized that it was the ideal supplement to their work. It was a formula that was rapidly emulated but has yet to be matched: a book written by an outstanding author who was also an economist that emphasized the most important themes without overloading most students with an excessive amount of detail. The substance of all 23 chapters has been substantially revised throughout the 6th version of the book. There are dozens of new applications that highlight the real-world applicability of economics for today's college students. These applications include relevant and realistic case studies, news stories, and puzzles that are engaging. The premier auxiliary package is the most comprehensive offering of its kind offered by any company in the business. It is delivered by a group of teachers and preparers who have been involved with the project since it was first published. Aplia, the most popular online service for completing homework assignments, has once more completed its integration of the e-textbook material (sold separately).

“I have made an effort to put myself in the shoes of someone who is learning about economics for the very first time. My intention is to place an emphasis on the topics that college students should find fascinating regarding the study of economics and that they actually do find interesting. — N. Gregory Mankiw.

Reviews

“A text that is really student friendly. Facilitates clear comprehension of economic concepts. Some of the other textbooks require a significant amount of reading in order to adequately explain a concept.

“Case and Fair's text was something that we frequently employed. The textbook written by Gregory Mankiw appears to be superior since it gives real-world examples that are relevant to the material that he discusses in the book. For instance, there is significantly more content in Mankiw about production surplus and consumer surplus, as well as regarding government programs and market interventions.

“Compared to other textbooks, I believe it is easier on the eyes of the reader. In addition to that, it provides examples in the form of numbers and/or graphs, which is really beneficial for the pupils.
