Book Description
Before the emergence of humans, the Old Ones dominated the planet. On distant islands, buried in shifting desert sands, and buried in the icy wastes of the polar extremes, remnants of their cyclopean cities can still be found. They initially arrived on Earth from the stars. Some of them are already dozing off deep beneath the sea or the ground. They will once more walk the world when the stars align.
A tabletop roleplaying game called Call of Cthulhu is based on the worlds created by H. P. Lovecraft. It is a game filled with horror, mysteries, and secrecy. You investigate nefarious conspiracies, venture to unusual and perilous locations, and defend yourself from the Cthulhu Mythos' terrifying forces. You run into creatures, crazed cultists, and entities that destroy your sanity. You can find insights that man was not supposed to know in weird, lost books of lore. The future of the globe may very well be decided by you and your friends.
The main rules, historical context, advice, spells, and monsters of the game are all included in one book, the Keeper Rulebook. It is designed to be used by the player who will present the adventure to the other players, the Keeper of Arcane Lore (the Keeper). To play Call of Cthulhu, you must have at least one copy of this book. The Investigator Handbook, which contains extended rules for character creation, talents, jobs, equipment, and more, will be helpful to the other players, the Investigators.
