Book Description
The second edition of Elementary Applications of Probability Theory is a PDF document that offers a concise and easy-to-understand introduction to applications of probability theory, with examples drawn from the engineering and biological science fields.
A synopsis of the fundamentals of probability theory can be found in the first chapter. Random variables and the applications of those variables are covered in chapters two through five. In this course, topics such as geometric probability, dependability theory, and computer simulation, as well as the estimation of animal and plant populations, are studied. The convergence of sequences of random variables is discussed in detail in chapter six, with particular attention paid to the central limit theorem and the weak law of numbers in this chapter. The following four chapters provide an overview of random processes, including random walks and Markov chains, using illustrations drawn from the fields of population genetics and population growth respectively.
This edition additionally includes two chapters that present an introduction to the subject of stochastic differential equations and their applications in a manner that is both comprehensive and easily readable.
